A practical stamp workflow

Position a Stamp Clearly on a PDF

Place an office mark where it is easy to read without covering document details. Use alignment for a repeatable starting point, then preview the pages you plan to mark.

1. Choose a page alignment

Open a PDF and choose Page alignment. The nine positions include corners, edge centers and the page center. Each position is resolved against the visible page after page rotation and cropping. The default Free position uses horizontal and vertical percentages instead. The tool does not detect blank space or move around existing text, so check the preview before exporting.

2. Set a margin from the page edge

An aligned stamp exposes Edge margin, from 0 to 15 percent of the page’s shorter side. The margin is measured from the rotated square stamp canvas, including its transparent padding. The visible ink may therefore sit farther from the edge than the slider suggests. Increase the margin to clear a footer or page number. If the chosen size cannot fit, the tool reduces it to stay within the page.

3. Adjust size, rotation and opacity

Stamp width is a percentage of the visible page width. A landscape page can therefore show a physically larger mark than a portrait page. Rotation turns the mark without changing its alignment. Stamp opacity ranges from 10 to 100 percent and affects both the PDF preview and downloaded copy. It does not alter the saved design or standalone PNG. A lighter mark can reduce visual interference, but always check that both the stamp and underlying text remain legible.

4. Move freely when a preset is not enough

Drag the mark, use its arrow keys, or adjust the horizontal and vertical sliders to switch to Free position. Arrow keys move one percentage point; Shift plus an arrow moves five. Changing opacity or size keeps the current alignment. Reset placement restores the initial position, size, rotation and full opacity. Re-select an alignment when you want to anchor the mark again.

5. Check mixed page sizes and batch results

For every-page or batch output, the chosen alignment and margin are calculated separately for each page. Preview portrait and landscape pages, and choose a width that works for both. Free position instead retains the same relative center on each page. Select the pages to stamp, download the new copy, then inspect the result. Batch downloads reflect the settings captured at the start of that run; run again after changing them.
