A practical stamp workflow
Choose a Clear Date Stamp for Your Documents
A useful date stamp combines a short status with an unambiguous date. Decide what the date represents before choosing its layout and format.
Create a date stamp ↗Choose the date for the task
A fresh date, Paid or Received template uses today’s date from your device’s local calendar. That may differ from the event you are recording. Open Add a date and choose the intended calendar day, or select Use today to refresh it. The mark displays your chosen text; it does not verify when a document was received, reviewed or paid.
Compare the four available formats
For January 5, 2026, US format displays 01/05/2026, UK format displays 05/01/2026, and ISO displays 2026-01-05. Month DD, YYYY writes the month name. Numeric month/day order can be ambiguous for an international audience. Match the receiving workflow or choose a written month or ISO format when you want to make the sequence clearer.
Keep the label and date readable
Use a short label such as RECEIVED or REVIEWED in Center text. Let the separate date control handle the calendar value instead of typing a second date into another line. Inspect the preview at the size you will use, especially with a written month. Adjust text size, frame spacing and color if the date crowds the main label.
Reuse the layout without reusing the wrong date
Save the layout in Saved stamps or download a design backup. A loaded design keeps its original date, and an exported image never advances to a new day. Before generating the next document, review the date and deliberately update it. Use Update selected design only when you want the library copy to retain that new date as well.
Apply a date stamp to PDF files
Choose Add to PDF for one file or Batch PDFs for several. Select the intended pages, adjust the position and download separate copies. Every document in a batch receives the same design and date captured when you start the run; the tool does not derive a different date from each PDF. Review the output before using it in your document workflow.
